I’m interested in understanding and building autonomous intelligent systems. End goal: human-level and superhuman-level general AI.

Directions

Open to any research direction that pushes machine learning systems to be more robust and general. My main research interests right now:

• Emergent behaviors, creativity and curiosity in AI.
• Agentic, autonomous intelligence, continual learning.
• Efficiency and flexibility: data efficient learning and compression, Occam’s Razor, flexible architecture (AI models/systems with flexibility to allocate compute resources, flexibility in input/output interface).
